Top 10 Instagrammable Spots in Amsterdam
Since moving abroad, I curated my top 10 instagrammable spots in Amsterdam! I know I am not alone in wanting to find the most picturesque spots when travelling so I am so happy to share the below. I am sure I will come across more…. comment below if you have any others!
1. Magere Brug
This bridge is adorable, especially when fresh tulips are placed on either end of the bridge! Margere Brug is a bridge over the river Amstel and connects the banks of the river at Kerkstraat between the Keizersgracht and Prinsengracht.
2. Groenburgwal
I am sure this photo is all over the internet – definitely one of the top instagrammable spots in Amsterdam! The Groenburgwal is a canal that connects the Raamgracht with the Amstel. It runs parallel to the Kloveniersburgwal and the Zwanenburgwal and you can see the tower of the Zuiderkerk in the background!
3. Damrak, City Centre
This spot will always be touristy – one of the most popular spots in Amsterdam! The Damrak is the main street where people coming from the train station enter Amsterdam. This street runs between Amsterdam Centraal and Dam Square – both also great spots for photos!
4. Brouwersgracht
Browsing this street is such a delight – there are cute house boats lined up on each side of the canal and the shutters on the windows down the street make for a picturesque scene!
5. Seven Bridges
If you’re looking for a great canal shot – here it is! Reguliersgracht is one of the most picturesque canals in the city and is sought after by many photographers!
6. Zevenlandenhuizen
Stunning to see in person – the architect Tjeerd Kuipers was inspired by seven European countries and their characteristic styles of building! There are seven narrow houses that were built each with a different country representation.
7. Any fun floral bike on the Canals!
You can find many bikes that are covered in flowers along the canals of Amsterdam! Some will have tulips, others daisies, others greenery such as the above!
8. Amsterdam Centraal Station
Amsterdam Centraal Station is the largest railway station in Amsterdam. Everyday approximately 250,000 people go through this station – stops of almost all trains, buses, tram, metro and city ferry lines can be found here!
9. Park Plaza Victoria Hotel
This spot might seem a bit random and I honestly just snapped a photo of it as I was walking and realized how beautiful it was afterward. This is a side shot of the Park Plaza Victoria Hotel, across the water from Amsterdam Centraal. There are a lot of great areas for photos around this area of Amsterdam, though it does get quite touristy!
10. Blin Queen – Leaning Building
Again, another spot I stumbled across! Blin Queen is a cute restaurant and when we went to eat there, we realized how much the buildings were leaning! You can read all about why Amsterdam buildings lean but a lot of times your naked eye can’t really catch it. It was cool to really be able to see these building have a significant lean in real life!
