Honeymoon Adventure in Cabo

If you are trying to figure out the best spot for your honeymoon adventure, don’t sit on Cabo! A lot of people tend to gravitate toward Italy, or Paris, or somewhere romantic with culture and a ton of to-do activities (which is totally OK, but you are going to want to relax after speaking to your crazy Aunt Lucy for over an hour at your wedding).

You might be thinking, okay Ali, but Mexico is the hub for Spring Breakers… we also don’t want that on our Honeymoon – TOTALLY. I get that – so that’s why I did some research on the more relax, calm spots of Mexico that still offer excursions and have enough alcohol to get you dancing on tables if you so choose.

We stayed at the Marquis Los Cabos, which, ahem, could not have been any more breathtaking. After you arrive at the airport, it’s about a 20-minute drive to the resort and you will be seeing top-notch resorts on your left and right as you are driving down the road, but let me tell you. While the Waldorf Astoria or Las Ventanas al Paraiso might look like the destination spot – do NOT stop the car, keep going and hit the Marquis Los Cabos. I promise you. You will have an epic honeymoon adventure in Cabo here.

The Resort

The Marquis Los Cabos is an all-inclusive, adults only resort (hello no children, that’s what I am talking about!) When we were looking for a resort for our honeymoon, we knew we wanted it to be child-free and for the drinks to be flowing. They have many different types of accommodations onsite such as:

Food:

I know when people hear “all-inclusive resort” and see a decent, affordable price, they might think the food is bad. And to be honest, I have been to all-inclusive resorts where the food IS bad (Cancun for spring break… cough cough). But this is not the case (and it’s also not a crazy spring break hotspot either, thank goodness!)

There is an array of food to choose from on the resort such as:

  • Asian food: There is a whole restaurant where you can get sushi, hibachi, and other Asian-inspired meals. We ended up sitting at one of the tables where they cook in front of you!
  • Italian food: There is a great restaurant that is outside next to the pool where we ordered A LOT of pizza…. probably more than I would care to admit. But the pizza is the light crust and *Mua* just hits the spot.
  • Seafood: I am not the biggest seafood fan, so you won’t really find me scoping this type of food out. There is a good seafood restaurant also out by the pool where we had lunch a couple of times – they had a good chicken wrap that I enjoyed!
  • Mexican food: Interestingly enough, though we were in Mexico, we only ate here once! Honestly, this was probably my least favorite of all the places. I think I am more into Tex-Mex (that’s what happens when you go to On the Border too many times).
  • Room Service: I think we ordered room service at minimum 2x a day…. for breakfast and then either lunch or a mid-afternoon snack. They have so many options for food and it was all SO delicious. The best part? Every single morning there is a secret door next to the room door where they place a little box of pastries each morning! It was so cute and we would share them right when we woke up, would get our suits on and then order a real room service breakfast to eat out by our pool. #fancy

Excursions/Activities:

  • The resort has something to do every single day and evening. Everything ranging from poker, bingo, cornhole and music trivia in the day to live music and shows at night. We attended a different show each night and there is a calendar onsite so you can check it out beforehand.
  • We rented ATVs and went on a ride for about an hour and a half. (You can book this at the hotel through the front desk.) Someone came and picked us up to drive us to the site & also to take us back to the resort. (Have to wear close-toed shoes for this excursion, so we highly suggest packing a pair!)
  • My husband had never been parasailing so we went into town and along with another group hopped on a boat and went parasailing! This excursion was our shortest one, we were only away from the resort for maybe 2-hours max. We were up in the air over the water for about 10-15 minutes total, but that is more than enough time for me!
  • If you haven’t gone ziplining before, this is your sign to sign up for an adventurous excursion. There are a few different companies that host this type of excursion – I can’t say which one is the best since we only went once, but I heard great things from other resort guests who went with a different company. We ended up buying photos (from all excursions, because why not) and you can see them below.
  • We were scheduled to do a romantic sunset catamaran, but my very smart husband got the dates mixed up. 🙁 We ended up missing the bus to take us (we were out enjoying time in the common pool 🙂 )
  • And last but not least, we of course enjoyed time in our personal plunge pool as well as time sunbathing out in the common pool! We ended up making some friends when we were out by the common pool and got dinner and drinks with them one night which was fun. They ended up sending us a bottle of champagne to our room when they left as a little honeymoon gift which was such a fun surprise! You never know the wonderful people you will meet on vacations!

Overall, I would give our Honeymoon Adventure in Cabo a 9.5/10 only because I couldn’t find some fresh guacamole onsite! That was a bit disappointing, maybe I wasn’t looking in the right places. 🙂 Take a look at some additional photos below!
